OUR EDUCATOR’S…
The Pre-School complies with the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011. These regulations specify that for every ten children between the ages of three and five years in attendance we must employ one educator. Therefore with a group of 20 children we must employ two educators per day; or with a group of 20-25 children we must employ three educators per day.
We believe each child’s individual needs are important so we maintain a staff ratio above the required minimum per day. Our Pre-school values the education and development of your child by employing two four-year (degree) trained early childhood teachers who are responsible for the planning of the educational program. This program is implemented by all our experienced educators trained in a Certificate lll in Children’s services who care about your child’s learning and development.
Our experienced early childhood educators have been with the Pre-school for many years, ensuring stability and consistency and with over 90 years of combined teaching experience are well equipped to facilitate each child’s growth and development in a supportive way. Over the years we have had the pleasure of being involved with all siblings from within many families, watching them grow and develop into fine young adults.
Our financial and administrative concerns are handled by our Executive Officer who is also a member of our staff.
Our Pre-school operates and adheres to the regulations and acts of many regulatory and government bodies including the following:
- Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010
- Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011
- Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998
- Work, Health and Safety Act 2011
- Child Protection (Offenders Registration) Act 2000 (NSW)
All staff employed by the Pre-school are subjected to the Working with Children requirements. The Working with Children Check is a formal process of checks to help determine a person’s suitability to work with children, or have unsupervised access to children in their work. The policies and procedures of the Pre-school reflect the appropriate practices required to operate under these Acts and Regulations to ensure the health, safety and well-being of the children, parents and staff.
Our staff are trained in senior first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis management, and child protection.
